Perish with Great Difficulty

Perish with Great Difficulty

You know the story. It's Christmas eve and all retired naval captain John Maclaine really wants is to win back the love of his estranged fiancé. Instead, he finds himself caught up in a fight to take back Nakatomi Manor from a nefarious band of Bavarian Barbarians lead by the villainous Herr Gruber... On second thoughts, maybe you don't quite know this version of the story.

From the mad geniuses who brought you Austen inspired comedy sensation 'Sense & Spontaneity' and the time-travelling literary detective thriller 'Jane Austen: Private Eye' comes the ultimate mash-up of mad cap action and feel-good regency romance that you never knew you needed in life.

An all-new "regency romp for DIE HARD fans of action comedy. "

So funny, all the way through. Best joke - the reference to Robin Hood and Hans taking the role of the Sherif of Nottingham :D

It's been almost a week, and I'm still absolutely raving about how fantastic this show was. The absolutely brilliant writing weaves Die Hard and Jane Austen together so well and is incredibly clever. Add engaging and hilarious characterisations and performances, and it blew me away more forcefully than a 12 pound cannon. If the show comes back, go and see it!!

Put your hands up for all the single Regency ladies! As the great Patsy Stone once said, "You can never have enough hats, gloves, and shoes."

If you've seen Die Hard this is a masterclass in converting those key characters and plot points, if you haven't seen it then the show is a lost and bombastic Jane Austen tale of wrong place, right time. Yippee Kayay Mother Fringes!
