The Music of Sergio Mendes
Irresistible Brazilian rhythms, sweet jazz harmonies and a whole lotta groove, don't miss your chance to hear classic tunes of Brazilian superstar Sergio Mendes!
Making his name back in the 1960s with his group Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66, he went on to become the undisputed master of pop-inflected Brazilian Jazz.
Listening to hit tunes like Mas Que Nada and Ultima Batucada, you'll be whisked away to the 60s and 70s to bossa nova cool and then get grooving in your seat (or feet!) to the infectious rhythms of Brazil!
Mendes was a prodigious arranger, composer and musician, and this show dedicated to his music celebrates his legacy. Featuring the timeless melodies and Brazilian flair that made Mendes a global icon, this is a celebration of music that still sounds fresh and joyful today.
