Stories We Carry
The Stories We Carry, British Jamaican storyteller, poet and performer Colin Archibald invites you into an intimate encounter with memory, music and the search for belonging. Coming to Busselton for FRINGE WORLD in February 2027, this solo performance follows a life shaped by oceans, migration and the stories that travel between generations. From ancestral connections to Africa and Jamaica to growing up in London and building a life in Western Australia, Colin traces the distance between where we come from and who we learn to become. Along the way, he explores the quiet weight of racism, the complexity of family love, and the years spent searching for a reflection he could recognise with pride.

Colin Archibald is a British Jamaican storyteller, poet and performer based in Western Australia. Born in London to Jamaican parents, his work explores identity, migration, belonging and the emotional inheritance passed between generations. Drawing on lived experience, Colin brings honesty, warmth and vulnerability to conversations about racism, family, resilience and healing. His play Oceans Apart premiered at The Blue Room Theatre’s Summer Nights in Perth. In The Stories We Carry, he weaves personal storytelling, original poetry and music into an intimate performance, inviting audiences to reflect on their own lives and the stories carried by those around them.
