Recess Duty

"Gorgeously funny yet often poignant. I will be crossing my fingers that somewhere, somehow, Recess Duty gets a return season." - Stage Whispers, 2026

A comedic love letter from one primary school teacher to another, Recess Duty captures the messy, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking realities of teacher life.

Set in a Year 5 block in Term 4, teachers ranging from bright-eyed newbies to battle-hardened veterans juggle unruly students, relentless admin, and hectic curveballs - all while clinging to their sanity (and their mugs). Enjoy one last laugh from the outside before the bell rings, and the chaos begins.

Inspired by real-life experiences, this dark comedy is equal parts therapy, satire, and solidarity.

Think 'The Office' but with more glitter glue and late-night parent emails.
