Readings for Change
What has changed and what has stayed the same? 5 years on from ‘Children of the Sea’ by ENCOUNTER’s Youth Ensemble, the cohort reunite for four evenings of powerful staged script readings of new works. Each night will present a different text written by and for BIPoC artists, celebrating diverse local stories.
Stick around after the performance for reflection, community and conversation on the works and what it means to be a BIPoC artist in WA.
Experience powerful writing while making a meaningful contribution, as a portion of proceeds will be donated towards Palestinian aid.

Presenter
Presented by: The Blue Room Theatre & ENCOUNTER
ENCOUNTER is a Western Australian theatre company creating contemporary performance through intercultural collaboration, artist development and community participation. Beginning in community centres, schools and gathering places, we have grown into a company creating work for theatres, festivals, public spaces and communities across Western Australia, nationally and throughout the Asia-Pacific. Throughout this journey, our purpose has remained the same: bringing people together through meaningful encounters. The Encounter Youth Ensemble (E.Y.E) is a group of young artists from diverse contexts and lived experiences who work alongside the Artistic Director to contribute ideas, develop projects, and support the creative direction of ENCOUNTER.Social media
