The word primal in big bold yellow lettering, with colourful feathers out of focus in the background. Below that a woman in a patterned powersuit stands with hair slicked back and hands held dramatically over her waist. To her right, a woman in black underwear is wearing a silver geometric unicorn mask, to her left a shirtless man with wavy hair stares down the barrel of the camera.

An aerial performer swings horizontally from a rope, arms outstretched, lit in blue and purple stage light. Below, other performers spin sparks and dance, with a crowd seated around the stage.

A burlesque-style group performance on a dimly lit stage, lit in purple and pink. A performer in a black bra and shorts bends forward centre stage, framed by large pink ostrich feather fans held by other performers in black outfits. Audience visible at the edge of the stage.

Primal

★★★★★ "Primal isn’t just a show; it’s an all-out, high-energy fever dream that’ll stick with you long after you leave." - The List

Primal is an invitation to question how we see bodies, gender, and desire.

Created by the team behind Rouge, and winner of Best Overall Circus & Physical Theatre Show at Adelaide Fringe in 2026, this 'circus for grown ups' celebrates the weird, the wonderful, and the fabulously flawed, finding beauty in both our differences and what connects us. With breathtaking acrobatics, laugh-out-loud comedy, incredible aerials, sultry cabaret, and a live soundtrack by the incomparable Leather Lungs, this is circus that flips expectations with strength, vulnerability, and unapologetic joy.

“The sexiest circus cabaret performance of the year” – The Advertiser 2025
