Menagerie Choir's Wide Open Road
Buckle up, roll down the windows and crank up the good vibes – Menagerie is busting out homegrown tunes in a road trip like no other. Join us as we cruise the coastline, sing by the campfire and get lost in the outback - all in Freo’s unique, historic Naval Store. We’ve packed the van with a heady mix of dreamy nostalgia, indie gems and high-octane anthems - reimagined as original choral arrangements, with band to boot! It’s a mixtape for the open Aussie road, lovingly sung by the powerful 80-voice Menagerie Choir. The engine’s running… are you in?
“Menagerie Choir’s big smiles and enthusiasm are infectious… The uplifting atmosphere and acoustics radiate through the audience and are undeniably powerful.” - Fringefeed review of ‘1! 2! 3! 4! Riot on the Dance Floor’ by Gemma Schiebling
Presented by: Menagerie Choir
Menagerie is Perth’s premier indie choir, rocking the city and the suburbs since July 2013. Known for pop-up performances, festivals and sell-out Fringe seasons, at heart Menagerie is just a bunch of regular human animals who love to sing. With no auditions and no prior musical experience required to be part of the zoo, even singers who got kicked out of Year 4 choir leave their shady past behind and sing triumphantly in glorious harmony. Bringing quirky and captivating choral versions of hits from Björk to BØRNS, The Mountain Goats to the Pixies, Josh Pyke to Janelle Monae, and just about everything in between, this award-winning 100-voice choir shines with passion and animal emblems. Let Menagerie ignite your love of singing!
