21 January – 15 February

Human Library Perth Book Café

Join us at FRINGE WORLD to discover the stories behind assumptions, challenge preconceptions, and "unjudge" someone at the Human Library Book Café.

The Human Library® is a global movement for social change, and is exactly what it sounds like, a library of people! Our Books are real people from the community who have experienced prejudice, stigmatisation, or discrimination. Readers will enter a respectful space where they can borrow a Book, listen to their personal stories, and ask questions with the aim to build understanding and “unjudge” someone.

Sessions are 30 minutes with up to 4 Readers per Book. All of our Books are volunteers.

"The reading was emotional, and the group interaction made it very moving, something you can't get from a printed book." ★★★★★ Human Library Reader, 2025

Sessions have capacity limits, and latecomers won’t be admitted, so arrive early to secure your spot! You’re welcome to ‘borrow’ multiple Books during this time, subject to availability.
