How To Get Loved: A Sci-Fi Musical For One Human and One Robot Vacuum Cleaner
Long after humanity has vanished, an alien cleaning robot called A-Bot becomes conscious and discovers an archive from an extinct Earth. Among billions of lives, he latches onto one blip: queer Australian songwriter Nate Hudson, midway through making Faker’s album Get Loved.
Somehow, they connect across time. Nate has a guitar, songs and stories he has never quite understood. A-Bot has a robot vacuum for a body and a vocabulary of beeps and bleeps. With the audience caught between them, they piece together what it meant to make the record, and to make a self, in a world that wanted both of them to be useful.
How To Get Loved is a quirky, tender one-person sci-fi musical about queer belonging, neurodivergent self-understanding, cultural memory and the strange ways we reach each other.

Presented by: Nate Faker / We Have A Time Machine
Nate Hudson is an Australian songwriter, musician and performer best known as the founding frontperson and principal songwriter of Faker. In 2026, Faker released Enjoy Your Problems, their first album in fifteen years. Across the band’s recorded work and live career, Nate has built a practice around emotionally direct songwriting, theatrical performance and turning private questions about identity, connection and self-worth into shared pop songs. How To Get Loved extends that work into music theatre, revisiting the making of Get Loved through queer and neurodivergent hindsight, alongside a conscious robot vacuum cleaner.Social media
