English is my Second Language
Dear immigrant,
Have you ever been hanging out with Aussies, and they make a joke... but you don't get it? And the worst part is, you even laugh only because everyone else does?!
I’m Jetro, a Perth comedian and also an immigrant from Latin America. For years I've toured Australia making Aussies laugh! But this time I'm doing a show for us, the ones that reply "haha yes" when we don't understand the question. The "guilty of everything", according to One Nation.
Immigration, accents, culture shock, homesickness and plenty of crowd work. Think group therapy, except nobody in the room has Medicare.
Five sold-out shows around Australia. Sydney Comedy Festival 2025. Perth Fringe 2026. ★★★★½ Fringefeed.
Immigrants: finally a show in your 'language'! Aussies... ok, scr3w it! You are also welcome.

Presented by: Jetro Gainza
Cheeky, warm and fresh, because the "how he said it" is also the joke. Jetro is a Chilean comedian based in Australia, who turns his charisma into his best material. His comedy comes out of the migrant experience: the small absurdities everyone else walks past, turned into stories with jokes and tags planted the whole way through. He works fast and physical. Faces, voices, full body commitment! Onstage, he plays with the crowd without ever putting anyone on the spot. Offstage, you will want to grab a beer with him and keep chatting after the show.Social media
