Damian Callinan: Spoons
Damian Callinan returns to Perth with Spoons, a moving, hilarious and darkly funny portrait of 84-year-old Stan Coates, whose late wife’s treasured souvenir teaspoon collection sparks an unexpected battle for dignity & aged-care reform, as he doggedly resists a move into a senior living facility.
Previously a FRINGE WORLD award-winner with Double Feature, Lost WW1 Diary & The Wine Bluffs, Damian is also the creator and lead of hit film The Merger & plays Frank in ABC TV’s The Newsreader. With sharp character work, brilliantly observed monologues and plenty of heart, Spoons is a poignant WA premiere.
