A Moot Point
On the eve of a criminal trial, law student Otis kills time in a department-store fitting room while his mooting partner Isla helps him prepare to give evidence. As closing time nears, their comic sparring over outfits, legal arguments, and the detail of the case reveals that Otis is more involved than he first let on. Set in present-day Perth, A Moot Point is a funny, dark and surprising new play about friendship, responsibility and the ways we avoid facing what we have done. When guilt is no longer hypothetical, what do we owe each other? What can we do when making things right is no longer possible?
