Get ready for a great start to FRINGE WORLD 2018 and a spectacular Australia Day long weekend of fun times!

Most FRINGE WORLD Hubs in Northbridge, including The Pleasure Garden, FRINGE Central and The Ice Cream Factory, are closed on Australia Day and kick off with a big program on Saturday and Sunday, including loads of free stuff.

On Friday, head to the Birak Concert in the Supreme Court Gardens - a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities with music, dance and food.

The Pleasure Garden transforms into children’s playground Little Pleasures on Saturday and Sunday from 3pm-5pm with a free and fun program of events to keep the kiddies entertained, plus there’s loads of shady spots to enjoy a cool beverage and relax.

For more free events head to the One Day in Fremantle event featuring Kate Miller-Heidke, DJ Kevin Parker, Arnhem Land hip-hop artist Baker Boy and indigenous dance group Djuki Mala.

At FRINGE Central in The Perth Cultural Centre the Urban Orchard has been turned into a sensory overload with The Showman’s Fair – a mini festival within a festival! The Showman’s Fair is a delight for every one of your senses!

Events you can’t miss out on include award winning circus act A Simple Space, Australian theatre production Terror Australis and family entertainment with Kids Club Comedy.

Other must see opening weekend events include children's shows & I'll Cry If I Want To at The Pleasure Garden  and Trash Test Dummies  and the hugely popular Djuki Mala at The Pleasure Garden. For the party animals Metro City will host ELROW PSYCHEDELIC TRIP - an event unlike any other!

Check out our new hub over the weekend at the Ice Cream Factory, just around the corner from The Pleasure Garden and home to Club Swizzle, from the makers of La Soirée, plus a packed program of shows in The Edith Spiegeltent and The Ramp. Get amongst it!

We've got over 100 events joining City of Perth's huge Australia Day weekend. For the full program of City of Perth events over the Australia Day long weekend click here.
