The Fringe Fund

Helping FRINGE WORLD artists shine

The Fringe Fund helps FRINGE WORLD artists shine by supplementing cash prizes awarded to FRINGE WORLD Award Winners, by providing Keep On Fringing grants to artists whose FRINGE WORLD performances are adversely affected by unforeseen circumstances and by providing artists additional support during critical situations as deemed appropriate by ARTRAGE.

Launched in 2016, the Fringe Fund is one of the many initiatives managed by ARTRAGE, the producer of FRINGE WORLD, that has the success of artists at its heart.

What does the Fringe Fund support?

Between 2017 to 2020, the Fringe Fund primarily channelled contributions into the FRINGE WORLD Awards prize pool, which is distributed to award-winning artists and companies that present at the annual Festival. Since 2012, FRINGE WORLD has awarded over $325,000 to artists.

The 2021 Festival saw contributions to the Fringe Fund channelled to artists and companies whose shows were adversely impacted by the COVID-19 lockdown and subsequent capacity restrictions that occurred in February 2021.

In 2022, ARTRAGE introduced Keep On Fringing grants to provide additional support to artists through contributions made to the Fringe Fund.

In 2023, the Fringe Fund will continue to support the FRINGE WORLD Awards prize pool and provide Keep On Fringing grants to artists.

Hello Sunshine

ARTRAGE would like to acknowledge the significant contribution that Gage Roads Brewing Co. has made to the Fringe Fund.

In 2017 Gage Roads Brewing Co. and FRINGE WORLD Festival came together to bring you Hello Sunshine. Part proceeds from every sale of Hello Sunshine in Australia goes to the Fringe Fund, making a massive impact on Fringe artists.
