You might not think spending your Friday night watching a youth circus troupe is up your alley, but trust me, it definitely is. The Raft was one of the most memorable shows I’ve seen in recent years. The performers, all young and brimming with enthusiasm, made it an absolute pleasure to watch.
But it wasn’t just their excitement that made this show stand out—they were seriously talented. From elevated classics like juggling and diabolo to death-defying acrobatics, I couldn’t believe what these school-aged kids were doing, and making it look so easy too. Their precision was second to none, and their engagement with the audience would make you think every performer was a seasoned pro.
The live guitar and digital mixer added another dimension to the show, infusing it with fun, humor, and a captivating storyline that guided us through an endless array of tricks. The music wasn’t just a backdrop but an integral part of the performance, enhancing every moment.
An unexpected but delightful through-theme of bingo games brought hilarious rhymes and provided a nice break from seeing our heroes fall overboard one by one. The interludes were a clever touch, adding a layer of interactive fun that kept the audience engaged and laughing.
For me, coming dead last in the bingo game is just one more reason to see The Raft again. The combination of youthful energy, incredible talent, and creative storytelling makes this show a standout at FRINGE WORLD 2025. Don’t miss out on this unique experience!
