alkeme Cabaret by dance company Sinista Entertainment is an electrifying Fringe performance brimming with sensuality and flair. If you’re after a show that’s sultry, provocative, and packed with talent, add this show to your Fringe list.

The cast is impressively large for a Fringe production, featuring four female and four male dancers, alongside a captivating host and MC who bears a striking resemblance to Taylor Swift. Her powerful vocals, reminiscent of a seasoned musical theatre performer, punctuate the show with heartfelt ballads that balance the fiery dance numbers.

The costumes are undeniably seductive. When not clad in lingerie, the performers don feathered wings or daringly minimalist ensembles, while the men command attention in tight, sheer shirts and form-fitting trousers. Needless to say, it was hard to look away.

Two standout performances stole the spotlight for me. The first was a stunning contemporary duet, with a couple dressed in ethereal white delivering a graceful and emotive routine. This was followed by the rest of the troupe storming the stage as a dominatrix and her subservient crew, transforming the scene into a bold, risqué spectacle.

Another highlight was the salsa and tango act, where the dancers showcased their impeccable technique in a sultry display of Latin-inspired rhythm and movement.

The two-hour show also features thrilling guest performances. A silks artist defied gravity with a jaw-dropping acrobatic display high above the stage, while Wild Kat, a fire-breathing powerhouse, lit up the room—quite literally. Those sitting in the front row were lucky enough not to leave with singed eyebrows.

The grand finale saw the performers writhing and dancing under cascading water from a hand-crafted wooden contraption built by their stage manager. It was the perfect closing act to a show that had me captivated from start to finish.

As far as Fringe shows go, alkeme Cabaret is a standout. It’s a performance that pushes boundaries, delivers jaw-dropping talent, and it’s one you won’t want to miss. Although a new show, I feel it could leave a legacy similar to consistantly sold out Fringe act, Briefs.

Experience the sizzle for yourself – alkeme Cabaret runs until 13th February at Fringe World.
