Danielle Walker’s comedy show was anything but “Mundane”! It was an hour filled with interesting stories, comically timed pictures and videos, and laughter from the whole crowd.
The show started by addressing the neurodivergence in the room followed by stories about weird families (and who’s family isn’t weird), the phenomenon of Woolies meerkats, real life ghost stories and the infamous pool grave. Also be prepared to be educated on the invasiveness of pigs in Queensland.
Despite some of the transitions between stories were a little jilted, and a point when she kept repeating a joke until she got the reaction she wanted from the audience (which was comedic for a bit and then went on for too long), Danielle kept the audience entertained with her dynamic expressions and enthusiastic story telling.
The lighting of the venue was great, and the small room made the performance feel more personal, like hearing stories from a friend. Having only seen Danielle Walker on Taskmaster, I wasn’t sure what to expect from an hour long comedy show, but as I am typing up this review the next day I find myself still chuckling as I remember the jokes and stories shared.
Mundane is a great show for all to see, whether it is by yourself or with a group of friends. The show is mostly family friendly, though I would recommend bringing the teens and leaving the little ones at home.
I highly recommend going to see Danielle Walker’s show at the Oasis Comedy Club, just be warned that you might leave with sore cheeks from laughing so hard.
