F*ck, Marry, kill was the perfect way for me to start off this Fringe season. It’s a show that encompasses what fringe is all about. The show takes a popular nostalgic game, examines it closely, and presents a fresh and riveting performance. Never before has a show kept me on the edge of my seat like 'F*ck, Marry, Kill’. I lost count of the number of times I was surprised or caught off guard during the show.

The show is an improv theatre piece that follows three couples, which are formed at the beginning of every performance by the audience. The goal for the couples is that their stories have to end in either a f*ck, marry or a kill. The location and the pairing of the couples are all decided by the audience. The mystery of the show is what makes it brilliant, It was fun to know that no- one in that room knew where the show was headed (including the actors). I loved knowing that the show could head in any direction. This meant that when I was watching the show there was so much for me to enjoy.

I found myself observing the reactions of the actors standing by—those who, like the audience, were in the dark about what was going on. I alternated between watching the performers and enjoying the contagious laughter and gasps from the rest of the audience. The atmosphere of the show was fantastic. I enjoyed the collective sense of discovery, as everyone in the audience, including myself, was unsure of what would happen next

F*ck, Marry, Kill is the perfect show for a friend's night out or when you are in the mood to discover something new. It has a sense of familiarity while also allowing you to dip into the world of improv and comedy. It is a show that I can promise will make you laugh and let go for a full hour. It’s also a show that will undoubtedly spark conversations afterwards and may even lead you to play your own game of 'f*ck, marry, kill’.
