Fresh and spontaneous, the vibe in the Big Top is mischievously electric – just how we like it.
Sierra, Kevin and Liam form Full Out Formula, a circus troupe based out of Chicago, and this is their first venture to Australia. They bring wit and clowning as well as their brilliant circus skills. Kevin is the stick master, Liam the consummate juggler and Sierra, what can I say, fantastic acrobatics with awesome muscle control and balance. It was such a thrill to see the three of them in action.
And then there is the egg showpiece. I don’t want to give too much away, but if you’ve ever seen the movie Tampopo, you should have an idea what’s in store. Alone, this is worth the price of admission and truly marks these guys as playfully weird.
You feel like you are experiencing a bunch of mates having fun mucking about at home, but the mates are endowed with top-notch circus and clowning skills, so the mucking about brings us breathtaking moments of skill blended with hilarious bursts of wackiness.
I love the way the performers are so clearly enjoying themselves, and we are ‘infected’ with their bonhomie, particularly when they bring a mike into the audience to ask questions such as "upside down or right way up?" The answers to which then guide the upcoming stunts. I Think It Could Work does so beautifully.
A superb addition to the treasure trove of circus shows on offer at FRINGE WORLD. Don’t miss it.
