Wow!

Claire Robin’s solo (with a keyboard player cum fall guy) show was so funny it hurt.

A weird, kind of creepy mix of mime, song, sex, religion, sex, household items, audience participation, politics and sex, this was a show that bewitched and tickled in equal measure.

Right from the top, she had the audience under her spell, and she played with them like a handful of Play–Doh, squishing them into weird shapes and making them do ridiculous things with each bat of her hypno-eyes.

The most astonishing thing is that most of this was accomplished with the barest minimum of words. A gesture here, a saucy shrug there. It was really quite something to behold. No one was safe, but no one cared because she led by example.

The characters she created were played to perfection, and the messages she delivered, though hilarious, were laced with a pretty dark, thought-provoking, undertone. But that didn’t stop anyone from laughing till their sides ached.

The theatre was packed, and the audience was in hysterics for the entire hour, making for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Claire Robin is a force to be reckoned with, and Nun Slut is an experience no one will forget.

If you miss one show at FRINGE WORLD this year, don’t let it be this one.

Brilliant fun – go see it!
