What a lovely evening, sipping a cool drink while relaxing in the beautiful State Theatre Centre outdoor courtyard with jazzy, brassy tunes performed for our pleasure by Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys. On this occasion, they regaled the audience with the music of The Rat Pack (or Swingin' Singers), the famous, or infamous as it were, trio of star performers from the 1950s and 60s: Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Sammy Davis, Jr.

The Band Leader, Adam Hall, is an accomplished trumpeter, vocalist, and composer, and he used all of his musical skills in this Las Vegas-themed performance. He led the six-piece band in blasting out some very memorable tunes such as, I Love Las Vegas, King of the Road, Ain't That a Kick, and a fun sing-along, Volare. I particularly enjoyed the message for life delivered by the song I'm Gonna Live Till I Die. And, of course, the forever favourites - New York, New York and My Way - sealed the deal.

The audience was swaying, snapping their fingers, clapping, and singing along all throughout this waltz-down-memory-lane show, making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Adam Hall & The Velvet Playboys will be performing this show for a final time on Saturday, 31 January at 6pm. They are performing other sessions throughout FRINGE WORLD as well, such as: Bella Ciao, Rhythm and Blues, and Roarin' 20s. Don't miss out!
