Hosted by Boorloo burlesque legend, Kitty Littéur, Mx. Burlesque WA: The Re-peel was a delightful peek into 2025’s inaugural Mx Burlesque competition highlights.

Whilst honouring the rich history of the art of striptease, Mx. Burlesque aims to advance the longstanding art-form through a “neo-burlesque revival”. In the competition’s Re-peel on Saturday night, our showcased performers were a celebration of just that.

Each act was a combination of wit and seduction, flavoured with personal flair. From traditional burlesque - all pin-up curls, sheer night gowns and feather boas; to avant-garde fantasy - a knight’s plight, a red pill and a moon-stealing supervillain - there was a tickle for everyone’s fancy.

Highlights of the highlights included CC Satine’s high-octane, saucy re-imagining of “Despicable Me”. With patent-leather domme-energy, CC Satine and her diamonte-studded minions awoke some peculiar desires in the hearts of their captive audience.

Also one to watch - Mya Tension brought skilful contemporary dance to the world of Burlesque in the form of an LED leather cloaked Matrix homage. Bathed in an air of mystery, a choreographed strip-tease fight scene saw our performer conquer the stage, one sexy sucker-punch at a time.

And a complete show-stopper was Nat Oaks - pulling out a thrilling, all leopard, take no prisoners number, using heat, temptation and chaise longue silhouetted debauchery to command the night.

With talent and empowerment, Mx. Burlesque WA: The Re-peel was a one-night reimagining of competitions past. But don’t fret - although you may not be able to see this particular line-up again, you can catch more home-grown Burlesque talent later this year in the Mx. Burlesque WA competition of 2026! Keep your eyes (re)peeled.
