If you like your circus with a big dose of spice, this is the show for you! As the name suggests, Teasing Myths is a sexy extravaganza of aerial, dance, comedy, burlesque, acrobatics, juggling, and contortion heavily inspired by Mediterranean myths. Greek mythology is very cleverly interwoven into each storyline, featuring heroes and villains we all know, like Icarus, Perseus, Hades, and Medusa (what a baddie!).
The acts themselves ranged from funny to breathtaking, with each performer showcasing their well-honed skills alongside some absolutely banging tunes. Whoever thought to pair Medusa with the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Off with your head”? Pure genius!
The intimate venue meant that you got up close and personal with the show, enabling you to truly appreciate the costumes, props, and even the performers’ facial expressions that helped to tell each story.
The audience interaction was fun and a bit cheeky, and the changeover between the shows was pretty seamless, to the point where you weren’t sure if the act was quite over yet!
Fans of the circus will love the variety and will be in awe of the performers’ skills, and if you are also a Greek mythology buff, you will appreciate the clever nods to the stories and characters throughout the show.
Definitely one to look out for next year!
