Rip-roaring raunchy renegades.

Wow wow wow! How to begin describing a show so flamboyant and filled with intrigue? Not only does CLUB D’AMOUR: Encore bring some seriously sexy burlesque acts, but comedy, outrageous circus and … jaw-dropping opera?!

The evening is hosted by bodacious firecracker host Fay Rocious, who brings the heat and keeps the audience begging for more. Fay doesn’t hesitate from engaging with the audience, an element which stays sexy and hilarious throughout the show. She weaves the show together deftly, pulling together the delicious weirdness into one cohesive performance.

Vocals are brought by songstress Christine Ibrahim, who flexes some unexpected, serious old-school heat combined effortlessly with an outrageous modern twist. I won’t give it away, but Christine dazzles in the kind of way you like to imagine Mozart would have enjoyed on a drunken night out.

Speaking of twists, the show is peppered with swinging, flying, spinning, contorting and every manner of mesmerising physicality from performers Matthew Pope, Melina Mall, Nat Oakes, Wade Ryder, Tom McKinnon and Antonia Sassine. Not content with powerhouse vocals and fiery cabaret, the show launches headfirst into several different themed performances that combine silliness with kinkiness, comedy with an audience-drenching (seriously) bonanza. Bubbles, flames, puppies, cowboys, CLUB D’AMOUR is full-throttle from the get-go.

I will concede that while the CLUB D’AMOUR: Encore did have some quieter lull moments, it brought some high-octane creativity to a fabulously dirty evening.

CLUB D’AMOUR: Encore is a show that I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone ravenous for a naughty night out at FRINGE WORLD that packs some serious artistic punches without batting an eyelid. This might just be the biggest year yet for the crew at CLUB D’AMOUR, but something tells me this crowd favourite is here to stay.
