Roaring into week one of FRINGE WORLD Festival for 2026 is Jens Radda as the award-winning drag diva, Skank Sinatra. Delighting audiences to a brand-new show created by Radda and co-contributor Carly Fisher, Skank Sinatra: The Name On Everybody's Lips, had not only everybody talking, but on the edge of their De Parel Spiegeltent seats.

Gently guiding the audience through a whirlwind masterclass in the rules of cabaret, the aircon was cool but the performances were hot in this extravaganza of re-contextualised Broadway bangers and allegorical anecdotes. Accompanied by the sharp-tongued and quick-fingered Joe Louis Robinson as the show’s Musical Director and Emotional Punching Bag, audiences were delighted by 60 minutes of pure, unadulterated sass from the titular Skank.

With playful bickering a-plenty and tales ranging from Brian the braai-loving lion to promiscuous ballads exploring the joys of gay sex culture, the audience was enthralled by costume changes, powerhouse vocals and just a healthy dose of Kath Day-Knight inspired hysteria.

Despite all the glitz and glamour (supported by sound and lighting courtesy of the Festival's expert tech team), Skank Sinatra truly shines the brightest in moments of vulnerability, be it audience interaction or improvised punchlines. It's clear that the art of showmanship is not lost on this diva.

Jens Radda is a force to be reckoned with and proves it in this laugh-out-loud show made for lovers of musical theatre, old and new. Wit, charm and legs for days - Skank Sinatra is not to be missed!
