The 1940s National Resonator Guitar

The 1940s National Resonator Guitar

This is a show about an object, an instrument. A couple of years ago I was lucky enough to receive a 1940s resonator guitar as a 50th birthday present. This amazing vintage guitar has an incredibly warm, rich sound and just oozes musicality, giving strong vibes of aged whisky, cuban cigars and dark chocolate, a heavenly gift.

To give thanks, I offer this show - music from the era, played with love, reverence and individuality. The set includes standards from Gershwin and Irving Berlin, blues from Robert Johnson, Sleepy John Estes and Blind Willie Johnson, rocking gospel from Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and country from Hank Williams Jr, as well as a few carefully chosen contemporary tracks.

This is a solo acoustic show from the very top shelf, not to be missed by lovers of live music.
