Why not start the FRINGE WORLD season with a show that is quintessentially Fringe? Cabaret Le Papillon is a safe space for new artists to make their performance debut and for seasoned artists to test new material.

Being a show of debuts, no one quite knew what to expect. However, the MC’s (Whisky A’More and Dee Dee Luscious) set the tone with glamour and silliness. In true burlesque fashion, the audience was encouraged to cheer, whistle and whoop at any and every opportunity, which elevated the energy of the audience and performers alike.

One by one, each performer showcased a variety of talents. As for the performers new to the scene, it was a real joy to see their bravery in making their stage debut, and to see their nerves quickly melt on stage in the presence of a supportive and energetic audience.

On the burlesque front, seasoned performer, Miss Flo Jangles, was a highlight. Her balance of power, class and sensuality was a true homage to modern-day femininity.

On the dance front, Duo Rhapsody gave an impressive performance. With undeniable strength and chemistry, this dance duo offered audiences a contemporary-style piece with a touch of storytelling.

After several acts, the show came to a close with a special guest performer who left the audience in stitches.

In true Fringe fashion, Cabaret Le Papillon is a celebration of variety, body positivity and self-expression.  Each performer had an infectious confidence which brought even the most reserved audience members out of their shell.

If you’re thinking about going to a FRINGE WORLD show but are not sure whether you want to see burlesque, cabaret or dance, Cabaret Le Papillon is the show for you.
