Just another drag show…Abso-fringe-alutely NOT!

Drag performers notoriously get “visual” attention for their wild outfits and cheeky personas. However, THE Dean Misdale commands more than your eyes. Dean demands your full attention with a performance that’s 100% worthy of a Broadway stage.

Dean uses their powerful voice to punctuate and animate the monologue of their salubrious rise to stardom. From the “every-kid” singing and dancing in front of the TV, to being scouted for many iconic cult-status stage shows, worldwide!

They now live a glitter-filled dream life, dotted with envious exclusive invitations. Dean has been invited to “Priscilla Queen of the Desert” premieres and even got to sing for Adele! Not bad for a (now) WA local!

I have no idea how with all the cinching, pinching, tucking and sucking-in outfits, that Dean can still deliver such a powerful and pitch-perfect voice to project so effortlessly and command 100% attention of the audience. Equally gobsmacking are the ridiculously quick costume and wig changes! (Oh, by the way Dean, if your delicious lolly-pop looking Priscilla wig goes missing…it wasn’t me. Just sayin’…)

I sat entranced, listening to every word spoken, and rocked by every lyric sung. I may have sheepishly joined in, while watching in awe, as the rest of the audience relished in full volume their permission to belt out an old favourite together!  It was a moment of “unified” diversity.

Whilst the voice and costumes were big, bold and loud, the performance was intimate. It was like an invitation to pull back the curtain to get to know who this Dean Misdale person was, is and will be.

In the words of Michael Bublé – “holy sh!tballs mom, this kid can sing!”
