Roe (Ruhama) has had a lifelong passion for performing. As well as being the child who put on shows for her parents and carried a tape recorder in case she came up with a song, she has classical singing training and a degree in Performance Studies. Roe has appeared in films, including ongoing improvised performances filmed live with Corsairs Cove and Jack Square Peg. She has worked in theatre around Australia and in New York. Roe has appeared in many productions in Perth with some recent credits including God of Carnage, Othello, Quiz, Romeo & Juliet and the award-winning shows: Things I know to be True and Incognito. Roe has had the privilege of touring Australia with the acoustic duo she formed with her husband Chris, which is revived in What to Expect When You’re No Longer Expecting.
What to Expect When You're No Longer Expecting
About this event
One in five.
This is for all the people who have yelled 'let's have sex, I'm ovulating!', and for those that have come running because what's hotter than that?
This is for the mum-to-bes who haven’t stopped thinking about soft cheese, wine, espressos, sparkling wine, sushi and the wine that comes from a volcano in Italy.
This is for the ones it didn't work out for. This time.
One moment, your boobs hurt and the smell of coffee makes you gag, the next, you're back on the single origin Arabica.
One in five, but when do we ever talk about it? Or sing about it?
Don't worry, I'll sing, you don't have to.
The kind of show you walk into as strangers but leave as a community.
Together, we'll shout their names, so they're not forgotten.
Together, we fight against the shame.
Together, we are not alone.
