About this event

Tom Witcombe is a romantic, so where did he take his wife on the first day of their honeymoon? Where else? New York City’s 9/11 Museum - a place where millions of people go each year to grieve, pay their respects and, evidently, take selfies.

But as he stood at Ground Zero, watching tourists extend selfie sticks and hearing the snaps of front facing cameras, Tom started to ask himself a few questions: Is this how shameless we’ve become? Are people really this desperate for attention? Would this be a hilarious name for a stand up comedy show?

The answer to all 3 questions? Yes.

“Selfies at the 9/11 Museum” is a brand-new hour of relentless dark humour from a comedian who toes the line between hilarious and offensive as well as any comedian in the country.

If you’re a fan of Ricky Gervais, Anthony Jeselnik or Jimmy Carr, come see the closest thing Australia has to offer. Tom is a veteran of the Australian comedy scene, having worked with Frenchy, Daniel Muggleton, Andrew Hamilton and Amos Gill. His full-length 2022 comedy special Ignorant has received over 100K views on YouTube, and he has amassed tens of millions of views across Instagram and TikTok. He is also the host of one of the fastest-growing comedy podcasts in the country, Flog Cabin.
Tom is a regular performer at some of the top national and international comedy events. His electric performances have won over crowds at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, and Wollongong Comedy Festival. In 2025 he will return for the third consecutive year to the Sydney and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals, and for the first time ever is bringing his own headliner show to FRINGE WORLD.
