About this event

“The Goods Are Odd”

This Alaska to Amsterdam stand up comedy show is for anyone who has rowed a boat or rolled a joint, expat life generally, and those of us who have always felt they didn’t quite belong anywhere.

Having grown up  in Alaska, this "fish out of water" tale explores Kendra’s unique upbringing and move abroad 20 years ago. When you’re Alaskan to the core but somehow also Dutch, you can never avoid the question, “Where are you from?” Join her hilarious journey from the wilds of Alaska to the chaos of Amsterdam’s canals, and discover why Alaska is the Perth of America.

Kendra has taken this show to the Women in Comedy Festival in Manchester and the Boom Chicago Festival in Amsterdam, plus toured it across 11 countries in  Europe.

Presented by:
Kendra Borgen

Born into a Reagan-era hunter-gatherer society in Alaska, Kendra bought a one-way ticket in 2004 and has been entertaining folks in Amsterdam ever since. She has performed in over 20 countries, has been invited to various comedy festivals throughout Europe, and is a regular at both the Boom Chicago comedy festival and Utrecht International Comedy festival in her home base of the Netherlands. Come listen to Kendra’s journey from the hilariously rugged outback of Alaska to the chaos of Amsterdam’s canals.
