About this event
Artie is a performing artist...or at least she wants to be.
But the journey is tough, fraught with uncertainty, hesitation and self-doubt. Not to mention the never-ending auditions and negative feedback, and the constant echoing of voices telling her, 'you can't do it'.
Those pressures alone would be enough, but the road to 'success' is long, and money is definitely tight. So Artie's desire to pursue a career in the performing arts, has to be balanced with some sort of financial earnings.
But what exciting and enthralling jobs are out there for an aspiring artiste?
'Roadblocks' is a one-woman show, exploring the many barriers that all artists face and the meagre jobs they're forced to undertake to fund their creative passion and ambitions.
