#LETSFRINGE AND SUPPORT WA ARTISTS

FRINGE WORLD Principal Partner Woodside has launched a web series to promote Western Australian events in the 2018 FRINGE WORLD Festival.

The satirical series will parody the Masterclass suite of videos, and be released in three parts from today. They will feature the teachings of the legendary (and fictitious) community/Fringe performer, Terry La Rue.

Entitled Terry La Rue’s Homegrown Heroes Masterclass, the series will introduce audiences to Terry’s rather offbeat tips, musings and exercises – all aimed at helping local Fringe artists succeed at Fringe.

The videos are part of the Woodside Homegrown Heroes program, which has been running since 2016. The program helps to shine a spotlight on WA’s talented emerging artists and performers.

“Each year FRINGE WORLD transforms our city. As a proud WA company, we’re thrilled to be a part of this Festival, which gives more than 2000 WA artists a platform to showcase their talent and provides great entertainment to our community” said Woodside’s Senior Vice President Corporate & Legal, Michael Abbott.

FRINGE WORLD Festival Director Amber Hasler said that WA events are a huge part of the 2018 Festival, with WA performers presenting 47% of total events.

“I encourage everyone to support our Homegrown Heroes, and get a ticket to see the amazing and world-class local entertainment we have on offer in the Fringe,” Ms Hasler said.

Woodside has been a sponsor of the Festival since 2012 and has played a huge part in the FRINGE WORLD story. In addition to supporting the Festival’s Perth activities, Woodside’s support has enabled FRINGE WORLD to tour remote and regional locations throughout Western Australia, including Karratha and Broome.

The series will be published to https://fringeworld.com.au/homegrown-heroes and be shared across FRINGE WORLD and Woodside social media channels.

FRINGE WORLD Festival 2018 runs from 26 January through to 25 February, with more than 750 events across nearly 130 venues.

All tickets are on sale now from fringeworld.com.au.
