How to find shows for kids

Follow these tips to help you explore the 2021 Festival program and find shows suitable for ankle-biters, tweens and teens in your family.

If you set children’s events and family events as your preferences in the FRINGE WORLD app you will see recommendations for suitable events. How cool is that! 

Browse the Children’s Events Genre

We have a Children’s Events genre in the program with more than 20 shows to choose from. Shows in this genre will specify the recommended age range e.g. suitable for ages 5-12. 

Shows in other genres may be suitable for teenagers and kids, but you need to check the age suitability. 

Check the age suitability and content warnings 

Each event has a different age suitability and may also have content warnings. 

Shows with suitability for All (General) are for all ages, kids, parents and grandparents alike. These shows will not contain sensitive content like nudity or coarse language.  

There are also shows rated PG for parental guidance recommended and M for Mature audiences, recommended for people over 15 years old but subject to parental discretion.  

Please note that many venues are licensed and you may be asked for valid Photo ID to gain entry. In some instances under 18's are welcome to licensed areas but must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult, and the decision to allow entry is entirely at the discretion of the licensee. Each venue may have different licensing conditions, so please check the event and the venue license rules on our website before purchasing a ticket. You can view all venues here.
