FRINGE WORLD & COVID-19 Update

Hello FRINGE WORLD Friends, artists and Fringe fans everywhere.

We would like to give you an update as to what we are doing in response to the situation regarding the unprecedented occurrence of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Festival is currently in the strategic planning phase of the 2021 FRINGE WORLD Festival and the timelines and planning for the next Festival are currently not affected by COVID-19.

That said, the situation is changing daily and should there be any updates we will communicate them via our Facebook page and e-news.

From an organisational perspective, ARTRAGE, the producer of FRINGE WORLD, is proactively managing the impact of COVID-19 based on the latest advice from the WA Department of Health and other relevant government bodies. ARTRAGE's priority during this time is the health and safety of our staff and the wider WA community.

ARTRAGE also produces two temporary cinema offerings; Rooftop Movies in the summer months and Girls School Cinema in the cooler months. The organisation has made the decision to close the Rooftop Movies season early, effective as of 17 March 2020.

The Girls School Cinema season is currently under review. Our initial plan was to open in May so that we could present this popular winter entertainment venue as we have done for the past two years. We are monitoring the situation closely and will announce in April a revised plan.

As the producer of one of the most popular and well-loved annual events in WA, we look forward to getting out the other side of this situation so that we can present the 2021 Festival for us to celebrate as a community the work of our incredible artists.
