Chatting with Head First Acrobats

Has a stunt ever gone wrong on stage?

I fell off the stage in Barcelona once. Luckily I wasn’t injured, but I remember looking at someone in a chair and thinking what are they doing on stage? Then I realised I was off stage haha.

What’s your funniest story about a flustered audience member?

Last year in Elixir someone walked right up to Louis in his first show and handed him her number. In front of everyone. Confident.

How do you select the theme for the Head First shows, such as GODZ?

We love themes that have tropes and characters that people know, so we can twist them and make them comedic. The ancient gods are so childlike and capricious, it's perfect for a performance.

Are there any fun pre-show rituals you guys do?

We always put our hands in a big circle and have a fun and cute hype up.

Which Greek God would you be and why?

I love Dionysus. He is the god of wine, parties and religious drunken experiences. Which is awesome to me.

What do you find always gets the biggest response from the audience?

...Getting naked lol.

What can audiences expect from GODZ that’s different from your other shows?

We have stuck to our formula of comedy narrative but gone bigger in every way. More technical circus, more costumes, more comedy routines and stupidity, more nudity. More everything.

Are there any tricks that you’ve always wanted to try but haven’t had the chance to?

I’d actually love to try springboard diving. It looks so awesome in the Olympics and I think we would be good. The HFA comedy divers.

What trick are you proudest of being able to do?

A good head spin is always a favourite. Best move I ever learned.
