Buskers Weekender Bender

The Weekender is a free event that will see the City come alive with wild performances from around the world from 2-4 February.

Forget boring and forget what you thought you knew about busking, and get ready for some of the wildest entertainment to ever hit the city malls with a packed program across seven stages over three big days.

Street artists, circus performers and other weird and wonderful acts will hustle throughout Forrest Place and Murray St malls from 11am to 4pm across the weekend, and from 5pm to 9pm on Friday.

FRINGE WORLD Festival Director Amber Hasler said that this huge new event will transform the City malls and be fun for the whole family.

“There's something new and exciting to see every day of the Weekender and our artists are so excited to perform to Perth audiences,” Ms Hasler said.

“A big highlight of the Weekender is acrobat Zane from Colossal, who on Saturday 3rd of February Perth will attempt a Guinness World Record. Be there at 11am to see Zane attempt to break the record for most number of balls juggled while suspended upside down on a trapeze.”

Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi said the City of Perth FRINGE WORLD Buskers Weekender was a result of the City’s sponsorship of the Festival, with the City committing to a triennial partnership.

“I am delighted that the City of Perth has partnered with FRINGE WORLD to create this very special free event, where the world’s best buskers will be bringing their talents to the streets of Perth,” Ms Scaffidi said.

“FRINGE WORLD has become such a special and iconic time in the city, and the City of Perth is proud to support the event as it continues to grow.”

The Buskers Weekender is free, but Cash is King! Our performers always hat at the end. This is your chance to show your appreciation for what you have just watched or been a part of.

The best way to get to the Buskers Weekender is via public transport. It’s right in the Perth Malls so the Perth Underground Train Station is your best bet. Go to Transperth to find out other public transport options. If you're driving use the CPP website to find parking.

There are seven stages at the Buskers Weekender and they are all within close walking distance of each other.
