6 Perth Festival shows for Fringe fans

We asked our mates over at the Perth Festival for some show recommendations for Fringe folk.
They've come up with six incredible shows that we hope will tickle your fancy.
Perth Festival runs from 15 February to 14 March. It's the oldest arts festival in the southern hemisphere and we think it's just marvelous that Perth has a huge Fringe festival to enjoy, followed by the curated arts program of Perth Festival.
I'll Tell You In Person
Pop on a set of headphones and settle in over a drink with a friend to talk truth, conflict and understanding with I'll Tell You In Person at Alex Hotel.
You can sit across from someone but have no idea what’s going on in their head. It can be hard to talk honestly. You know how it is – differences of political opinion or the fear that telling the truth will destroy the tender world you share. Award-winning artists Jeffrey Jay Fowler and Sarah Reuben, with sound designer Max Juniper, bring you an intimate audio experience about the booms and busts of friendship.
Art Feast
The Darkness & The Light ART FEAST is a decadent feast for the senses where sumptuous dining is paired with performance, film, installation and live music to create an immersive experience designed to stimulate and satiate. Chef Danny Sanchez and the talented Double Rainbow team have flexed their collective creative muscle and created a degustation filled with surprise and delight where each dish is paired with a matching performance.
The Dark Church - Nights at The Rechabite
Over four Nights at The Rechabite that align with the two weeks of Art Feast: The Darkness and The Light, a wildly diverse assortment of some of Perth's most celebrated musos present a series of concerts that rocket from one extreme of the musical genre spectrum to the other.
Wild Things, Perth Festival is taking over Perth Zoo!
Let your imagination run wild with WA’s most talented authors, musicians and performers in a slightly different habitat. Perth Festival has invited ten tiny curious curators to plan and create a carnival for all the animals: The zootopia of authors, musicians and activities for all ages include Perth Symphony Orchestra pop ups, Soukouss Internationale, James Foley, animal illustration classes, creature choreography, Noongar story telling and an animal passport trail that takes you around the world. With a focus on the conservation work by Perth Zoo, learn about the Numbat, the Western Swamp Tortoise and the Red Tail Black Cockatoo in this family day out.
City of Lights
Revel in the ultimate pop-up experience when City of Lights takes over the heart of your city with a feast of unexpected delights. City of Lights’ epic centrepiece will be the breathtaking light, sound and projections of Bilya Beneath, when Perth Cultural Centre buildings come to spectacular life in an ever-changing visual world of the imagination. Experience a world of colour, light and sound with an array of moving images projected onto the buildings for a 360 degree immersive, walk-through experience.
STC Courtyard Session
Make the State Theatre Centre Courtyard your destination for a feast of free music. From 5pm each night of the Festival (except Monday – hey, we all need one night off!) you’re invited to hang out with friends over a drink and some tunes. Each week sees a mix of curated playlists, live performances and DJ sets all brought together by a different guest curator, but all featuring a host of incredible WA talent. Drop in before you see a show or kick back after your Festival event for a great night of music and fun at STC Courtyard Sessions.
