$42.5K RAISED FOR BUSHFIRE RELIEF!

FRINGE WORLD is a magical time of year and a chance to escape the every-day, but as much as we enjoy putting on the Festival for our community to enjoy, we acknowledge that we do so at a time when there is a tragedy still unfolding on the east coast of Australia.

Both the Festival and its artists wanted to do their bit to support the people and wildlife affected by the devastating fires, and we are proud to reveal that the efforts of these groups have raised $42,540.06 towards multiple charities.

On Monday 20 January at the happy FRINGE WORLD Hub, The Ice Cream Factory the event To The Bush With Love - A Very Fringey Fundraiser was held, which was the result of an incredible collection of artists and crew alike, all volunteering their time, talent and skills to give audiences an evening of joyful escapism and support recovery from the ongoing fires.

This fundraiser event raised $8,435.05 from ticket and raffle sales and FRINGE WORLD Festival made a donation of $10,000 towards this artist fundraiser. All funds raised from this event will be donated and split equally across two charities; WWF's Australian Wildlife and Nature Recovery Fund and Red Cross Australia.

FRINGE WORLD also facilitated public donations from this website and all FRINGE Box Offices, where between 10-26 January customers had the option to add a donation to their ticket purchase. This raised $18,957.11 and all funds raised will be donated and split equally across these three charities:

WIRES - www.wires.org.au
NSW Rural Fire Service - www.rfs.nsw.gov.au
Victorian Bush Fire Appeal - www.vic.gov.au/bushfireappeal

Artrage Inc, producer of FRINGE WORLD, also held a fundraising screening at its outdoor cinema Rooftop Movies. A special screening of the iconic Australian comedy The Castle took place on Thursday 16 January, raising $5,147.90 to go to WWF, to care for injured wildlife and aid to restore forest homes to our koalas.

Artrage Inc is facilitating the payment of the donations to the charities listed.

Thank you to everyone that participated and helped with these fundraising efforts.
