A look back at ARTRAGE's Keep On Fringing Grant in 2022.
New Artist Support Initiative Delivers Results for Artists

Ahead of FRINGE WORLD Festival 2022, ARTRAGE launched a new grant program to support artists; the Keep On Fringing grant.

The grants were introduced to provide direct support to FRINGE WORLD artists who experienced an unforeseen hardship in the lead up to or during their 2022 Festival season.

We are pleased to announce that the recipients of Keep On Fringing grants for 2022 are GODZ, A Day at Glass Slipper High and CIRCUS FIRE Spectacular!

These grants have been funded directly through the generous support of FRINGE WORLD audiences who donated to the Fringe Fund.

The successful recipients were able to apply for grants up to $1,500 to help get their show on stage and successfully complete their FRINGE WORLD season.

GODZ presented by Head First Acrobats were one of the successful recipients for 2022.

Despite overcoming multiple hurdles to perform in this year’s Festival, the comedy acrobats you may recognise from RAILED and Elixir were excited and ready to premier their brand-new work GODZ; a hedonistic dive head-first into the lives of the ancient gods of Olympus!

Unfortunately, during their final rehearsals one of the gods injured themselves and subsequently were unable to perform, forcing the postponement of their opening night by two weeks.

The grant helped the GODZ team switch up their marketing to ensure Perth audiences heard about the new dates and could make it down to Girls School for their shorter but just as godly season.

ARTRAGE is thrilled that we could offer Head First Acrobats support through a Keep On Fringing grant with the GODZ crew going on to perform to sell-out crowds and taking home the 2022 FRINGE WORLD Circus Award.

Established in 2017, the Fringe Fund is one of the many initiatives managed by ARTRAGE that has the success of artists at its heart.

The support of every person who makes a donation to the Fringe Fund has helped the incredible teams behind CIRCUS FIRE Spectacular!, A Day at Glass Slipper High and GODZ successfully complete their Fringe seasons.

Along with the Keep On Fringing grants, the Fringe Fund also supports cash prizes for FRINGE WORLD Award winners to assist artists with touring and further show development. You can check out the FRINGE WORLD 2022 Award Winners here.
