Emotional roller-coaster
“Emotional roller-coaster”
“To any members of the LGBTQIA+ community, we see you.” This is a statement that rings true from start to finish with this show. It’ll not only claw its way into the deepest depths of your body and drag that which you’ve loved and lost into the light, but also soothe these wounds and bring you comfort in knowing you are not the only one suffering. A bittersweet story, but definitely a must watch if you or someone you know is queer.

After watching the show again with the understudy performers, I must say that Dana Brennan (Tessa) and Tea Lowry (Andie) performed incredibly and really painted the show in a captivating light. It really reinforces how amazing the show is after another watch too, so highly recommended to swing by for another viewing!

Another banger from 'perhaps, a theatre company.' An evocative tale of star-crossed lovers wrapped up in their past trauma and the affairs of queer relationships. Powerful in it's telling, this story is as beautiful as it is interpretive. I could relate to the heartache and sonder, and you will too! 5/5 ⭐

*continued* An experience that takes you back to discovering your queerness. Performed with authenticity and vulnerability. I especially enjoyed them switching through characters, showing Andie and Tessa's past loves. You see how their idea of love was first tainted and judged. These actors did a remarkable job bringing these character to life. Bravo Lauren (Andie) and Jess (Tessa).

Like watching myself but with lighting and a sound track. I felt as though the love and pain that I once had was told with such poetry. The writing captures the imaginative scenes that we create in our head when we overthink. It follows the journey of our first love: withholding when we wish to talk, asking our partners to read our minds, testing out boundaries, and questioning whether we are enough or too much. *continue*

Perfectly encapsulates the hardships/struggles (both from internal and external pressures) that can come along in queer relationships. Both Tessa and Andi demonstrate the confusion and complexities of identity and sexuality. 5/5 had me crying by the end.
