Presented by ZAP CIRCUS, A Circus Sensation is chirpy, eccentric and full of laughs – proving to be a delight for the whole family.

When we think of the notion of traditional circus, exotic acts from faraway lands instantly come to mind. However, in this WA born and bred circus lineup, we are introduced to husband and wife duo Tarrabelle and Rusty – who are both equally warm as they are charismatic.

In fact, it is the sole pair that entertains us for the night apart from select few audience members, who had the chance to strut their stuff and even determine the course of certain acts. While the show initially got off to a slow start, the pace picked up as everyone grew comfortable and more extraordinary feats such as fire eating were showcased. From dance battles to solving Rubix cubes, nothing was out of the equation for our bright-eyed performers.

The limits of the human body were tested, superhuman strength was exhibited and of course, the little ones were kept on the edge of their seat. With audience interaction weighing in heavily in their performance, there was a significant rapport between the duo and their spectators who cheered and shouted even when minor mishaps occurred. It was warming to see – and more than that, it was the award-winning acrobalance and dance routine Tarrabelle and Rusty they had shared thousands of times around the world that was most fascinating of all. It was truly the moment that tugged on everyone's heartstrings.

Overall, it was a feel-good experience apart from a few misplaced jokes and the excessive use of Gen Z songs to appeal to the younger crowd. Though with its family-friendly nature, A Circus Sensation is the show to take the kids to at FRINGE WORLD Festival – and if you were lucky enough to snag tickets to this sold-out season, consider yourself in luck!
