This show’s got everything! Stand-up comedy, cabaret, storytelling, poetry, a touch of magic, and even a world record breaking attempt. Each night’s a fresh combination of performances hosted by Nick Mortimer, along with Rossco and Corey Hunter from Hunter Brothers Media.

This is a show for adventurous variety seekers. Go if you are willing to try something new and not looking for something slick or predictable and you will find a diamond in the rough.

The delightfully quirky Mortimer shares a couple of ‘dad jokes’ and wows the crowd with a magic act at the start, concluding the show with a raucous world record breaking attempt as the grand finale of the night. Unashamedly bedecked in a tight shiny lycra all in one suit, Mortimer is unforgettable - a sight that cannot be unseen!

In contrast, comedian, and ex-chef Tim Kershaw, had a far more intense style, centring much of his humour about hospitality and life on the dole. Fremantle based Kershaw is a passionate eco-warrior, underpins his comedy with strong political messages.

Phil Cook, also from Fremantle, had a much gentler style, delivering lots of rapid one liners, offering an older persons’ perspective, raised an ongoing gentle laughter from the audience that built during his set. Cook delivered two very witty poems earning a great reaction from the audience.

Evan Desmarais from Canada didn’t skip a beat, having the most stage presence of the night, he was straight into it, quick wittedly giving a few audience members a gentle roasting, using the audience as fodder. Desmarais is a man who thinks on the fly, working with whatever is put before him, he doesn’t skip a beat.

The Hunter brothers, Rossco and Corey, had a nice easy-going brotherly love banter going on about their families, offering some guidance on how to keep a marriage sweet. This was the first night and I predict these two will flourish as a comedy duo over the next couple of shows.

Comedy Kombi is a world premiere. Great night out if you enjoy a range of humour styles and up for trying something new.
