If you are an andrenalin / serotonin / endorphin / dopamine junkie looking for a Fringe show that more than lives up to its name, you have found the right performance. The Kaye Hole is an upward spiral into Alice’s queer Wonderland where you’ll be repeatedly mesmerized. One does not have to be LGQTA to enjoy this evening out which could generate memories to last a lifetime.

Your white rabbit for this late night event, Reuben Kaye, has been voted the best cabaret performer of the Fringe and with good reason. I was not at all a fan of cabaret, so I had set zero expectations as the only official Fringefeed reviewer of The Kaye Hole. Yet, as a shaved-headed lesbian, I became often impressed by how well Reuben Kaye represents the LGQTA alliance and cabaret!

The tri-level, sold out, glamorous audience enjoyed this party as there is something for everyone wandering up and down the Rechabite. Reuben dazzles in scantily clad black drag with a unique porcupinesque boa that gives Celebrity Skin a run for its money.

Ultimately, Reuben Kaye helps us all remain playful and always young at heart with seven amazing guest acts who are exceptionally beautiful and talented: daring acrobat, Japanese comedian, Australia’s answer to Kate Bush, Elkie on trapeze swing, bubble laboratory, fire dancer Hannah and white fairy suspended in rope aerials. Here one is like a Mad Hatter constantly taking one’s hat off to all these artists.

I not only highly recommend this event, but also the other one simply titled “Reuben Kaye.” Both presentations generously offer 75 minutes of entertainment instead of the standard FRINGE WORLD hour, backed by a solid four person band.

You may be able to catch both shows in one evening like an awesome double feature; a rare Fringe treat!
