As we entered, the word on everyone’s lips was ‘labia’. Quite appropriate really as this was a show where names were important and double meanings abounded.

Pink-haired Simone Springer was our host for the evening. A consummate stand-up comic, by way of introduction she regaled us with a few anecdotes of her views on being single and dates.

And like much of the show there was more than one way to take the words. Not exactly one–liners, maybe more like two-liners which brings us to the next bits.

The evening contained many bits – some rude, as we were led to expect, and some very silly but all entertaining. Slightly tacky game show, quiz night, magic performance, slapstick (watch out for the flying marshmallows) – there was something in it for everyone, with or without the requisite bits.

Accompanying Simone on stage was the silent but expressive and very compliant Miss Lady V who had a great variety of magical and unexpected tricks in her box.

Shakespeare said, ‘A rose by any other name would smell as sweet’, and so it is with the female anatomy. Simone explored the language both colloquial (very colloquial actually with several novel audience contributions) and technical with a guest on stage to make some identifications – he got the most important one right!

Simone held all the bits together with aplomb and dealt very well with a technical malfunction with the audiovisuals. The camera angle may need to be addressed for future shows to allow those further away full access to some of the visual treats supplied by Miss Lady V. As it was, Simone just got members at the back to stand up.

As the show concluded it seemed appropriate to ask ‘was that good for you?’ And the consensus seemed to be – oh yes, multiple climaxes.
