What do you get when you take $6 to a Scarborough sunset?

Well, this Fringe you might just find yourself taking a skinny dip.

No, not one that will have the local lifeguards chasing you down the foreshore. Skinny Dip is a sensual showcase of some of Fringe’s most exciting performers from across the program.

On the cool Perth night I found myself under the big top, we were treated to no less than seven acts, ranging from knife throwing to street magic, each one more spectacular than the next.

A particular highlight for the excited crowd was fire artist Hannah Priest. Half the audience squirmed while the other half leaned in closer as she effortlessly, and seemingly painlessly, dragged large fire sticks across her body.

As the act built, so too did the fire. But you’ll have to track her down yourself to see the stunning finale.

Seamlessly stringing the show together was the dry sense of humour of our host, Gail Force. With a big entrance and a wry smile, she had the crowd on side from go to woe. A talent of her own, Gail was truly the hostess with the mostess.

But perhaps the biggest mention has to be reserved for Fringe’s Woodside Pleasure Garden princes, Circo Paco. All the way from Italy, the two boys shared their lovable, dorky characters with the crowd across three different skits.

Slowly but surely they wrapped the audience around their little fingers, and before we knew it, their wordless charm had us laughing hysterically as they fought over who’s outrageous wig was who’s.

While there’s no telling what you’re in for when you buy a ticket, your $6 will undoubtedly take you far as you dive into a surprise line-up at Skinny Dip.
