This is the evening activity you never knew you needed.
Making it to 6:30 pm on a Monday, I honestly thought I just couldn’t wait to get out of the city, go home, and probably doom scroll until I fell asleep. But I couldn’t be happier that I stayed out.
CALM: Musical Meditation was exactly what I needed. Climbing the stairs up to the show felt like entering another world—somewhere more mellow, chill, grounded, and, well, calm.
Moana Hall was transformed into a low-lit, peaceful oasis. From the plants to the fairy lights to the staff, the attention to detail in creating the perfect environment was outstanding. The ambiance was serene, setting the stage for a truly immersive experience.
Our musicians, Jessie and Mark, were hugely skilled in taking the audience on a musical journey. From the improvised to the planned to the guided spoken meditation, every part of the show was delightful and unique. Their vocal and instrumental skills were second to none, leaving the audience enchanted.
And I know what you might be thinking—a whole hour of meditation sounds like a lot. But this is different from what you’re forced to partake in on corporate teambuilding days. Think of it as more of a choose-your-own-adventure. If you want to dive into maximum mindfulness, go for it. If you want to just look around and use the music as a backing track, good for you!
This is a show where your own interpretation of calm is welcome, and trust me, you’ll leave feeling better for it. Whether you’re seeking deep relaxation or just a break from your day, CALM: Musical Meditation offers an amazing sanctuary of serenity. It’s an experience that rejuvenates, making it a must-see at this year’s FRINGE WORLD Festival.
