When you take a job as manager of a New York BDSM sex dungeon (albeit one on the sixth story of a respectable office building) to support your burgeoning standup career, you probably have one eye open to the comedic potential of your day to day duties – Katharyn Henson certainly did, and is happy to share her experiences.

It goes without saying that she observed some kinky peccadilloes, even though she was (almost) never required to get up close and personal with the clientele, so we hear tales of poop and wee fetishes, of being treated like dirt for money (sometimes a LOT of money) – and also of the very human side of kinks.

The show is as funny as it is illuminating – a peek behind the curtain into a world alien to most of us, titillating to some of us, offensive to a few – a world many of us are probably more comfortable hearing about without ever needing to experience in person. In that respect we could almost say Henson is doing us a public service by sharing her stories!
