From the moment you join the queue for this popular kid’s performance, (and I do mean BEFORE you enter the Big Top) you’re drawn into the antics of an elderly ring master, setting the scene for the level of audience interaction and “vibe”.

Morgan James’ audiences have included Presidents, Prime Ministers, and royalty. This WA legend with over 20yrs experience has managed to captivate the upper echelons across the world. With this reputation and an AUSLAN interpreter in place, we all sat eagerly awaiting HIS presence…and we weren’t disappointed!

The flyer for A One Man Circus calls it “a show for kids to take their parents to!”.  Indeed, it impressed us with mad technical skills and a magical way of weaving in some good life lessons. Morgan mesmerised his audience with funny antics, his friendly manner and frightening feats NOT suited for old farts (men) to perform.

There was so much interaction with the audience that the kids were absolutely beaming with excitement, wonder and joy. As an adult, it’s easy to go, oh yeah it’s the usual juggling, silliness and what have you. Yet, to see the joy in the kids eyes, so drawn in, so engaged is why it’s a 5-star must see event for me.  As I watched my son and the other kids with such awe on their little faces,Morgan’s performance gave me a chance to press pause on adulthood and remember a life of carefree, inquisitive innocence from decades ago. One that “life” had buried deep. …and that made my heart smile.

A One Man Circus is 100% worthy of his 2023 & 2022 Fringe WORLD Winner for the Children’s Event Award.  The show suits all ages, but is best for ages below 10, and parents or grandparents that need a giggle!
