ARCANA: Wheel of Fortune is a devilish spin on tarot and cabaret. With lavish, glittery costumes and beautifully skilled performers to suit, this cheeky game show takes you on a journey. To heaven or hell? I'll let you be the judge of that!
Hosted by the divine Whisky A’More playing the Devil, the premise of this game show follows contestants who each perform a dance in order to prove their worthiness and avoid being taken down to hell. Although fun and sweet, this light hearted storyline served more as a means for the incredible performers to showcase their performance art. Whiskey A’More is a wickedly funny and sensual host, with her smooth drawls captivating audiences in between each dance.
Featuring Lulu Liqueur as The Empress, Lolly Moon as The Moon, Kitty Litteur as The Tower and Ida Ocean as The Sun, every tarot card inspired performer was truly stunning. Lady Love Jube and Coco Cherie starred as the Hellions, personal assistants to the Devil who had their own air-hostess inspired dance too. We were even lucky enough to watch the Devil herself do an impressive number, proving that her skills were certainly not limited to just comedy alone.
The allure of these performers was irresistible, with sheer confidence, strength and flexibility on display. Every tarot card inspired character had exquisite costumes to suit, as well as wonderful props to add intrigue and variety. The best part of all? The absolute joy and passion that radiated from each and every dancer.
To see such bright, brilliant smiles on performers who had clearly mastered their arts was a true delight. An absolute feast for the senses, ARCANA: Wheel of Fortune is not one to be missed. Head on down this Fringe season and thank me later!
